Despite Everything That Happens: How Gratitude Gives You Back Your Confidence

In short: There is much in life we cannot change. What we can change is the path we take from here, and the direction we look in. Gratitude is not a platitude in this. It is one of the few strengths still available when little else seems to be.

Even though there is much we cannot change, we can still leave old paths behind and walk new ones.

We can be a light to others whose courage and joy in life have deserted them, and stand beside them while they find their confidence and strength again.

You may be asking yourself: how is that supposed to work in a time when everyone is carrying their own rucksack of fears, worries and doubts?

The strength that is already there

There really is a great strength in gratitude. In gratitude for all the good we have had, and still have, in our lives.

Bring that to mind once, and take pleasure above all in what you cannot buy anywhere. What exactly that is for you, you already know deep inside. Sometimes you have simply forgotten it.

Once you see it again, you feel the gratitude too.

Despite everything that happens: never forget how beautiful it is here.

Why good intentions are often not enough here

Many people have long known that a different outlook would do them good. They have kept lists, read books, resolved something each morning. And still the mood tips back by the afternoon at the latest.

That is not a matter of too little discipline. The lens through which we look at our life is not formed in the intellect. It sits deeper, and reasoning has a hard time reaching that far.

That is exactly where life coaching with hypnosis works: in deep relaxation, on the level where confidence and lightness can genuinely settle back in.

I would be glad to accompany you in letting the weights on your soul fall away, and in opening yourself through gratitude to confidence, joy in life and lightness.

Two questions I am often asked about this

Doesn’t gratitude feel forced when things are genuinely bad right now?

That objection is fair. Gratitude does not mean playing down what is heavy or talking yourself into something. It is not about being grateful for the hard thing, but about noticing something else alongside it. Both are allowed to be there at once. Anyone who forces gratitude will not feel it – anyone who allows it, will.

Do I have to manage this on my own, or can someone accompany me?

Nobody has to manage it alone. When the load has grown so heavy that you have lost sight of the good, support makes sense. In deep relaxation it becomes possible to reach the level where confidence settles back in – the place good arguments alone cannot get to.

When the heaviness stays longer

If the weight lingers for weeks, that is not a sign of weakness but a signal. Then it is worth looking at low mood and sadness, at burnout prevention, or at deep relaxation and stress management.

If you are unsure whether this is the right path for you, simply give me a call. In a free conversation of about 15 minutes we can clear up your questions. Request an appointment, or by phone on +49 177 6839890.

Hypnosis works alongside and in support of medical treatment; it does not replace it. If low spirits stay with you over a longer period, I will tell you honestly when medical support is the better path.
